The Vietnam National Startup Innovation Council (VNSIC) is an official executive council operating under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), established pursuant to Decision No. 1741/LDTM-BTT of VCCI to empower and champion technology entrepreneurs and innovation-driven startups towards regional and global competitiveness.
1. Historical Journey & Over 20 Years of Ecosystem Leadership (2003 - 2026)
VNSIC carries forward the rich legacy of Vietnam’s National Entrepreneurship Initiative pioneered by VCCI:
- 2003 (Pioneering Foundation): Under the directive of VCCI, the Business Forum Magazine launched Vietnam’s National Startup Competition, igniting the entrepreneurial spirit across youth and universities nationwide.
- 2016 (Ecosystem Expansion & Initiative 844): Evolving into the comprehensive National Startup Program in alignment with Government Initiative 844, shifting from business ideas to venture incubation and angel/VC funding.
- 2020 (Digital Transformation & Resilience): Overcoming global pandemic headwinds by digitizing nationwide mentorship, virtual pitch days, and hybrid incubation platforms.
- 2024 (Global Reach & 20-Year Milestone): Celebrating two decades of startup development, sending Vietnam’s national champions to the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) APAC finals.
- 2026 (Institutional Elevation - Council Inception): Official launch of the Executive Board of the National Startup Innovation Council (VNSIC) under VCCI Decision 1741/LDTM-BTT, acting as the strategic national nexus connecting Government, Tech Giants, Venture Funds, and Academic Institutions.
